March 2024 Executive Moves Around the Beauty Industry

March brought news that Unilever planned to cut approximately 7,500 jobs globally as part of an overhaul to save around €800 million ($869 million) over the next three years. The roles affected are largely office based.Markus Strobel, the longtime head of Procter & Gamble’s skin and personal care businesses, will retire, effective August 1. The announcement set off a shuffle in the senior management ranks of P&G Beauty. Freddy Bharucha, currently the President of North American personal care and beauty operations, has been named Global President of Personal Care, and Sue Kyung Lee, currently Chief Executive Officer of SK-II, will become Global President of P&G Skin Care.Chanel has named Emilie de Tramasure General Manager of Fragrance and Beauty, effective September 9. She succeeds Barbara Menarguez, who will retire on April 26. In the interim, fragrance and beauty will be led by Molli Megasko, Head of Digital, US. Menarguez joined Chanel in 1998 and has been a member of the US management committee since 2009, when she was promoted to Chief Financial Officer.LVMH Fragrance Brands announced that Romain Spitzer, who currently leads Parfums Givenchy and KENZO Parfums as CEO LVMH Fragrance Brands, will extend his scope of responsibilities to include New Ventures. In this newly expanded role, Romain will support the beauty roadmap from other divisions of the group in their early stages of product innovation and business development by bringing their incubation projects to completion.LVMH has allocated new responsibilities to two of its senior executives.
